Uploading Photos and Videos

Great photos and videos can make your recipes more appealing and engaging. Here’s how to take and upload stunning hero images and videos for your recipes on Chefadora.

Taking Good Hero Images

A good hero image can attract more viewers to your recipe and make it stand out. The hero photo should be real and authentic to show your audience how the dish will actually turn out. We currently only accept photos in portrait orientation.

Here are some tips for taking excellent hero images:

  • Lighting: Use natural light as much as possible. Avoid using flash as it can create harsh shadows.

  • Composition: Focus on the food. Use simple backgrounds and props that complement but do not overshadow the dish.

  • Angles: Experiment with different angles. Some dishes look best from above, while others look great from the side.

  • Clarity: Ensure your images are clear and high-resolution. Blurry images can detract from the appeal of your recipe.

Important: AI-generated and plagiarised images are not allowed. If you use unoriginal or AI-generated images, your recipe will be unpublished, and your account may be suspended. Please refer to our guidelines for the Use of AI-Generated Content.

Quality Matters

The use of low-quality or blurry images will penalise the creator, and we will rate their recipes lower than others to maintain the quality of the platform. Please refer to our Chefadora Internal Recipe Ranking System for more details.
